Site History

Back in 2005, I opened a Pokémon fansite. In hindsight, it was really rather pathetic; it had little in terms of originality and looking at any of the sections now makes me want to die of embarrassment. But it did teach me a lot about coding and keeping a large website managed, which I've appreciated since. By 2007 my interest had waned in both Pokémon and running the site, and I closed it. As I've found, though, my love of Pokémon never really faded, it just got pushed back in favor of other interests. So when Carolyn offered me the fanlisting for the games in October 2008, I was absolutely thrilled. I considered reviving the old site, but most of it was too bad to revamp, so I decided to start back up from scratch. I run many more sites now, so it will take time for the content to grow, but I'm dedicated to doing it.

I've had a lot of Pokémon domains, with names of varying relevance, but my favorite by far was rare-candy.net, which I bought in 2008 for the fanlisting. I decided not to renew it when the time came and instead moved it here to rhapsodos.org, my video game collective. I still loved the site name, though, so I decided to keep it. Besides, it's always good to have some Rare Candies around, right?
